New York Deli – a personal favorite. Very large sandwich menu, also offers pizza. Everything very fresh and the sandwiches are huge. -LC
Riverwalk Restaurant (Yorktown) – great place to have lunch on the water after touring historic Yorktown. I personally love their lunch salads … large with fresh fruit on the side.-LC
Last night we went to a seafood buffet at the Williamsburg Lodge..I believe it was $29.95 per person and the food was wonderful and the selection was amazing.....-LS
Francesco’s Restorante Italiano - I have not it tried yet, but several of my friends have raved about it! The owner is the cook and mingles with the guests when time permits. One friend, who travels to Italy, compared it to being Italy ... from the food to the atmosphere, it was an enjoyable treat. Only drawback is that that the dining room is small so you may be in for a wait. It’s located at 6524 Richmond Road, Unit D-LS
One of my favorites is Second Street....(on 2nd street)....When we first moved here, we tried it and it was very average. Several weeks ago we went and everything has changed...It was amazing....the food, the atmosphere...the selection...It reminded me of a smaller (more quaint) version of Cheesecake Factory....Definitely one of my favorite Williamsburg restaurants....-LS
Our favorite restaurant is Le Yaca for formal or even casual dining. Their French Onion Soup and Crab meat &Spinach Crepe is our favorite. They have a wide selection of delicious wines and the Marquis for dessert is a must!-DA
Our two favorite, family-friendly Williamsburg restaurants are
Bonefish Grill in New Town and Casa de Maya on Richmond Road. At Bonefish Grill the girls love going through the revolving door and drawing on the white paper table cloths. Casa Maya has crayons and a coloring page on the back of the kid's menu along with great Mexican food.-MA
Cities Grilleis one of my favorite Williamsburg restaurants. I've never had a bad meal here...the blue Gouda and the tornado hunter stegall entrees are my favorites. Service has never been bad and I love the wine flights they offer -- 4 small glasses of four different wines (you can get red, white or both). One of the nicer Williamsburg restaurants I think, but still kid friendly. Parents can get a nice adult meal and kids can get the standard "kid fare." -WP
SoyaWe think it has the best sushi in town. The hibachi entrees are also very good -- and the chefs are entertaining. For a sushi treat, definitely try the "Seattle III" -- amazing! I think they have some of the best dumplings in town too.-WP
Tequila Rose has been our favorite Mexican restaurants -- like the location on Rt. 143 the best. They have a great outdoor seating area when the weather is warm. Service is always fast. -WP
Have tried the new Poncho Villa (Rt. 5 & 199) and have to say it's pretty good. I have eaten there three times and the service has been great and the food is good. Great margaritas...try the Texas one on the rocks.-WP
Center Street GrillGreat location -- right in the heart of New Town. Large bar area and a great oyster bar -- try oysters from all over. I think it's a great place for lunch -- good crab cakes. My parents had a duck with tofu soup last week that they said was "phenomenal!" Diverse menu for dinner so if you feel like just a sandwich you can get it -- not just all entrees. Favorite appetizer has to be the Philly Roll. Haven't had bad service anytime we've been there. We've taken the kids there several times and they've enjoyed it. They also have a great outdoor seating area when the weather is warm._WP
Opus 9 The food is definitely good, maybe a little overpriced. I have eaten here for lunch and dinner. Lunch is not as pricey. Tried the Beethoven Burger (free range, hormone free) didn't think it tasted that much different -- wouldn't spend the extra money again. The Chesapeake bay oysters appetizer was amazing -- some of the best fried oysters I've ever had. The Ahi tuna appetizer is a winner too.-WP
My family really likes La Tolteca for Mexican. The food is great, service is quick, and they are always friendly and willing to honor special requests for children.-SN
We also like Center Street Grill in New Town. They have a great raw bar, offer appetizer specials each day (there is a time limit, but I can't remember hours.. perhaps 5 - 7). The menus is such that Mom and Dad can order a nice meal or a sandwich/burger and beer, while children can order cheeseburger (sliders) hot dogs, chicken strips, etc. And, the prices are reasonable. They also have outside dining from Spring - Fall. -SN
David and I love Cities Grill.Cities Grill has a great menu with diverse options, great portions which have consistently been of high quality. Service is just as impressive. The wine list is extensive as well. Prices are fair and we have never been disappointed. The only drawback...we never have room for dessert!-WM
Friendly's (even though well known as a chain) is always kid friendly and the wait staff is so nice and caring. Many of them have been there for a very long time and you get to know them by name which is great.-SC
Cheeburger Cheeburger is just so fun for a family night out whether is it for the burger, the "car" holders the kids meals come in, or for the amazing milkshakes! -SC
I always love Fat Canary. Yes, a bit pricey and sometimes the food is a bit fancy but I do love the atmosphere. Must make reservations however fairly far in advance.-SC
The chocolate shop in New Town--fun for after dinner coffees and champagne/ chocolate dipped strawberries!
Here are our family favorite Williamsburg restaurants:The Corner pocket(especially on a nice evening when you can sit outside) Good food at good prices.
The Green Leafe (New Town) – a great menu and really nice wait staff.
Pancho Villa – Williamsburg newest Mexican restaurant is the best (in our opinion)
Doraldo's – a little pricey, but the best Italian food in the area.
I love Thai, Indian and Vietnamese food. Here are my favorites in the area. Nawab is a my local favorite for Indian. Emerald Thai is fabulous with extremely reasonable prices and good portions. Iciban is the new hot spot with a great selection of Thai and Chinese. Terrific flavors, great portions and prices. Friendly service. Hot and sour soup has too much pepper. Very nice about adapting food, i.e. when I asked for no garlic, they made the dish without garlic. Nice mixed drink selection with good prices. They need to work on their wines by the glass list as it it limited to three selections and they need to lower the beer prices. I heard they have great sushi. Great service and wonderful private rooms for a special occasion. Chez Thrinh is another local favorite with flavorful Vietnamese food. Not truly Vietnamese cuisine, but still delicious. Thai Pot is disappointing. The portions are extremely small. You will leave hungry unless you order your own appetizer. Sharing an appetizer will not guarantee a satisfied stomach either!! The prices are not small to match the portions. The food was fine, but not as good as Emerald Thai or Ichiban.
- The SACRED GROUND on Richmond Road is one of my favorite Williamsburg restaurants for lunch, If you don't mind tables and chairs that don't match. but are more interested in fresh organic foods, this is the place to go. They have a variety of sandwiches made on delicious. crunchy whole grain rolls. Homemade soups are offered daily with choices of salads to go with them. You can also choose from a wide variety of teas , The cost is reasonable.-MZ
