As you can see...there are many different choices of lodging and three crucial things to consider as you make your decision.
1. BUDGET
2. LOCATION
3. AMENITIES
Here is some information that may help you make a more informed Lodging choice:
Williamsburg is a small town. From one end of town to the other is about a 15 minute drive. Don't feel like you need to stay near Busch Gardens if you want to visit Busch Gardens or neat Colonial Williamsburg if you want to visit Colonial Williamsburg. It will not take you more than a few minutes to get to any destination.
Most hotels do not have restaurants on the premesis. If you want to have a lot of restaurant choices stay in the section I have dubbed the Tourist District. It is close to shopping as well.
It gets very hot during the summer. Make sure you factor that into your lodging choices. Make sure you can live without a/c if you choose a campground, make sure you can live without a cool dip in the pool if you choose a B&B. Most hotels have pools but make sure when you make your reservation.
