Which COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG TICKETS are right for you?

Before purchasing Colonial Williamsburg tickets it is best to evaluate all of your options and pick the one that works best with the rest of your vacation plans.

Below is a run down of the different type of tickets and their prices. I have added in my 4-star rating system to help with your decision. Here are a few things to know before you choose which Colonial Williamsburg ticket package is right for you...

  • You should allow yourselves 1-2 days to see all of the historic area. The longer you spend the more you will see.

  • You will be able to walk around the historic area free of charge. The tickets provide you with access to the restored buildings.

  • You will be able to dine at the taverns without a ticket.( but not without a reservation during busy months)

  • You will be able to shop at the outside markets as well as all of the colonial stores without a ticket.

  • Take into consideration your families attention span as well as ability to walk. If you have younger children or people in your party who will find walking all day difficult consider a multi day ticket package.

Below are the different Colonial Williamsburg Ticket packages.

THE CAPITAL CITY ONE DAY PASS

    ADULTS: $36

    YOUTHS AGES 6-17:$18

    UNDER 6: FREE

Provides single day admission to most of the historic buildings and museums. You will need to purchase an additional pass for $9 to see the Governor's Palace (a MUST SEE in my opinion!) You will get free parking at the Visitor Center, free shuttle bus service, admission to The Story of a Patriot

**- I think the Governor's Palace is a must see. It will cost an additional $9 with this ticket to see the Palace so for $1 more upgrade to the two day pass. Also you will see a lot more at a much more enjoyable pace with the two day pass.

    GOVERNOR'S KEY-TO-THE-CITY TWO DAY PASS

    ADULT:$49

    YOUTH AGES 6-17:$24

    UNDER 6: FREE

Provides two consecutive days of admission to Colonial Williamsburg including the Governor's Palace and the museums. You will get free parking at the Visitor Center, admission to The Story of a Patriot

***- This is my second choice after the one year freedom pass. If you are only going to spend two days at the historic area then I would suggest this option. If you think you might want to return in the evenings or just come and go then for $10 more invest in the one year pass.

COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG ONE YEAR FREEDOM PASS

    ADULTS: $59

    YOUTH AGES 6-17: $29

    UNDER 6: FREE

This pass provides daily admission to all of the Historic Area exhibitions and the museums for a year. You will get free parking at the Visitor Center, free shuttle bus service, admission to The Story of a Patriot Along with all of this you get 50% off of evening Colonial Performance Tickets.

****- This provides you with the most flexibility. You could see everything without overdosing on history all in one day.

    COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG INDEPENDENCE PASS

    ADULTS: $79

    YOUTH AGES 6-17: $39

    UNDER 6: FREE

This pass is also a one year pass. It is the same as the One Year Freedom Pass but it offers free evening Colonial Performance Tickets as well as seasonal special value offers.

**- Unless you are going to take advantage of numerous evening Colonial performances or you live close enough to take advantage of the special seasonal offers then this doesn't make sense.

Check out a great special offer for Colonial Williamsburg.
