Colonial Williamsburg Restaurants that tantalize!
There are plenty of Colonial Williamsburg Restaurants to help fill your belly, quench your thirst and satisfy your sweet tooth. While you spend your day in Colonial Williamsburg you will need to keep yourself and well feed and well hydrated. It is feasible to leave Colonial Williamsburg to eat and return, but your time will be better spent if you eat in the area. There are many different ways to accomplish feeding your family while visiting Colonial Williamsburg and I am going to help give you some ideas.
Eat at the Visitors Center
There are two options for eating at the Visitors Center- Huzzah!
This is a good choice if you start out here and are ready to eat before you start exploring. They have a decent selection and a good kids menu. You can also save this for a simple dinner if you parked at the visitors Center. They stay open until 10pm. You can purchase your souvenir mugs here and refill them throughout CW. - Commonwealth Coffee and Tea This is good for a small snack to tide you over or a drink. They are open from 9 till 5.
Restaurants in and around Merchants Square
There are ten restaurants that are considered part of Merchants Square. Some of them are local favorites and some are world famous.
Casual Colonial Williamsburg Restaurants - Aromas Coffee and Cafe:
This local favorite offers breakfast, lunch and a light dinner. They also offer a large selection of coffees, teas and other fun healthy beverages. - The Cheese Shop For a complete review of this local favorite check out my favorite restaurants.
- Retros This is a relatively new addition to Colonial Williamsburg restaurants. They have a limited menu with the house specialty of hot dogs and fresh cut French fries. Don't miss the custard for dessert.
- Good Friends CafeThis is a little bit off the beaten path but it is worth it if you are looking for some healthy alternatives or Japanese food.
- Stephano's Pizza and Subs This is a typical NY style deli with pizza and subs. Great for lunch or a light dinner.
- Pizza on the Square This is a snack bar located inside the Kimball Theatre. They serve light snacks and drinks. you can refill your souvenir mug here.
A Little Fancier Fare! - Berret's Restaurant & Taphouse Grill
This restaurant was voted "Best Seafood Restaurant" for the last 15 years. I love this restaurant and have never had a bad meal here. It is slightly expensive, but for lunch try the outside deck. - Blue Talon Bistro
This is a huge crowd favorite if you ask the locals. They offer a light breakfast fare and then - Fat Canary
This is a highly celebrated restaurant in the area. It has been awarded the AAA Four Diamond rating 3 years in a row. Make reservations. - Seasons Restaurant
This is more of a family friendly restaurant. Although this restaurant is good their service is sometimes lacking. They have a weekend brunch. - The Trellis Restaurant and Cafe
This is one of the most celebrated restaurants in Colonial Williamsburg and the home of the famous"Death By Chocolate" dessert. You will need reservations and you should expect to pay 4$100 per person when all is said and done. Personally, I think it is overpriced and have had more than one disappointing meal over the last few years here.
Snacks and Desserts - Baskin-Robbins
This is the only ice cream shop in Colonial Williamsburg. It is the second busiest in the country but they always serve you with a smile! - Barnes and Nobel snack shop
Located on the second floor of Barnes and Nobel, they offer a large selection of beverages and light sandwiches. - The Raleigh Tavern Bakery This colonial bakery offers fresh baked goods as well as drinks from 9:30 to 6:00. The treats are always yummy.
- Wythe Candy and Gourmet Shop Although this is not a Colonial Williamsburg restaurant it is a tradition. Stop here to get a sugary treat.

If you want to save some money while visiting this area, you can always bypass the Colonial Williamsburg Restaurants and bring a picnic. There are many places to spread out a picnic blanket and relax under the trees. You will feel like you have stepped back in time and are really living back in the 1700's. We love taking a picnic to CW.
